Launch of Tertiary Qualification Verification Service in partnership with RapidID

HES and RapidID are excited to announce the launch of the Qualification Verification Service.

In Australia and New Zealand, verification of Academic Credentials has always been a largely manual and time consumingtime-consuming process, involving employers or their agents needing to contact the issuing institutions or the searching of localised databases.  As a consequenceConsequently, many employers do not verify the applicant’s academic credentials claims, thus introducing significant risks in the hiring process.

In response to this challenge and significant demand for a centralised service since the launch of the My eQuals platform in 2018, HES and RapidID have now entered into a partnership to bring a single-point Tertiary Qualification Verification Service to the ANZ market.

The new service includes:

  • One-stop online degree and identity verifications

  • Covering 20+ year history of qualifications from 50,000 education providers from 195 countries

  • Offering both historic and contemporary records

  • Qualifications from 20 leading Australia and New Zealand Tertiary Education Providers instantly verified at launch, expanding to qualifications issued by all My eQuals Participants in the next 12 months

  • API options for high-volume users

  • Ability to process bulk verifications across multiple tertiary education providers

Under the partnership:

  • HES will work with the My eQuals participants (currently 86 Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) education providers, including all public universities and the majority ofmost TAFEs) to establish a data repository of historic and contemporary qualification data.  When complete, this is expected to contain 10s of millions verified ANZ qualification records.

  • RapidID will serve the verification market, both directly to end-customers (though XRef) and by servicing pre-employment screeners and verifiers.  RapidID will also manage qualification verifications with education providers who are not yet connected to the new data repository.

At initial launch, 20 My eQuals participants will provision verified qualification records to the repository, in most cases covering 20 years of graduation history.  We expect this will expand to cover all 47 ANZ universities and many of the other 40 non-university My eQuals participants over the next 12 months.
